About the Finalists

  • Auriga pioneers electromagnetic technology for responsive and sustainable space exploration.

  • Cambium works at the interface of biotech and materials science to build defense products that computational chemistry, product design, and advanced manufacturing methods. They tackle challenges such as hardening critical assets against laser attacks, protecting payloads during hypersonic flight, and streamlining the defense supply chain.

  • Canopy Aerospace is an industrial fullstack manufacturer that uses additive manufacturing, robotics, and software to expand the capacity of critical ceramic materials and components. Their approach significantly reduces lead time and cost for hypersonics, vehicles, propulsion, semiconductors, and radar systems.

  • General Hypersonics, Inc. (GHI) provides a low cost, on-demand, reusable, resilient hypersonic launch system capable of launching small satellites, cargo, and other payloads around Earth, or to continuously orbit from land to sea.

  • Goodman Technologies LLC designs, creates, and manufactures subsystems with nanocomposite materials for extreme environments such as space, radiation, high temperatures, and deep cryogenic conditions.

  • Halo Engines, LLC is dedicated to developing advanced propulsion systems, providing complete packages ready for integration and flight.

  • Longshot Space Technologies Corp. aims to reduce the cost of both hypersonic development and space launch by offering responsive high-speed testing services.

  • Raven Space Systems revolutionizes composite manufacturing through Microwave Assisted Deposition (MAD) 3D printing which extrudes and rapidly hardens thermally-cured materials enabling large scale production of thermoset and ceramic matrix composites.

  • Spectral Energies, LLC provides high-energy laser technology, including pioneering laser imaging and spectroscopy techniques and modeling capabilities for advanced studies in propulsion combustion, hypersonics, aero-optics, plasma physics, serving the directed energy and optical diagnostic communities.

  • XL Scientific, LLC dba Verus Research delivers innovative outcomes in engineering and physical sciences by using advanced modeling, imaginative systems design, and tailored application development to provide solutions in electromagnetic and radiation effects, directed energy, embedded systems designs, and more.

About National Security Innovation Network

NSIN is a program office in the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), nested within the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU). We are set up to collaborate with a wide variety of innovators to include universities, researchers, students, entrepreneurs and start-ups. We create opportunities for collaboration across communities and connect those that might not traditionally work in national security. Together, we help drive national security innovation and develop technologies that directly support the individuals responsible for protecting our country.
